An online session to introduce the UNESCO Chair Program to Sri Lankan academics, organized by SLNCU, was held on March 27, 2026. The key resource persons were Professor Maria Fasli, Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair in Analytics and Data Science at the University of Essex; Dr Rachel Sandford, Chairholder of the UNESCO Co-Chair in Sport, Physical Activity and Education for Development at Loughborough University; and Mr Charlie Kennedy, Accreditation, Policy and Operations Manager at the UK National Commission for UNESCO. The session was attended by 46 academics.
