An interministerial discussion to explore appropriate actions and coordination mechanisms for the implementation of UNESCO’s Fit-for-Life Program in Sri Lanka, organized by SLNCU, was held on February 23, 2026. In the meeting where Hon. Prime Minister participated in her capacity as the Chairperson of SLNCU, representatives from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment, Ministry of Health and Mass Media, National Olympic Committee, and Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency also participated. After a fruitful discussion, a working committee was formed to identify possible areas of collaboration and consider next steps towards a coordinated national approach.
